BARRY MCGEE

I've recently been looking at the work of american artist Barry Mcgee. His work is inspired by mexican mural artists and grafitti of the 70's and 80's. I love his characters he draws from his imagination and his use of flat colour with black line. I also really like how he exhibits his work. He nails all of his frames really close together so they overwhelm each other and in some cases hang on top of one another. It makes for a really intense installation to look at. A picture i've also featured is his work on glass bottles. I like to illustrate on different materials and i have screen printed onto glass before. Seeing Barry's work inspires me to push that further for my fourth and final year of college. I'd like to work on glass, porcelain, wood and paper too of course.
